This portrait is the catalyst for the entire 'Women of Colour' series painted by Tamara in 2016 and selected as a finalist in the 2016 Portia Geach Memorial Award. It depicts Author, Advocate and Mechanical Engineer Yassmin Abdel-Magied - friend and personal hero of Tamara's.
20% of each print sale will be donated to 'Youth Without Borders' a NFP founded by Yassmin herself at the age of 16.
Youth Without Borders focuses on empowering young people to work together to positively change their communities and beyond.
They create agents of positive change.
They are a youth led, youth run organization who believe in the power of diversity and the magic of project based collaboration.
They provide support for young people to make their own ideas a reality. We believe that through the power of partnership, the needs of young people can be met.
